This 1958 Karmann cabriolet features the completely new dashboard with a chromed moulding strip across the entire length, a wider glove compartment and pull-out ashtray. The traditional VW accelerator roller was replaced by a rubber-covered flat pedal .

Externally, the engine cover had been completely modified to accommodate a larger, lighted two-line number plate by making it flatter and removing the W-shaped moulding, with ventilation being provided by two sets of horizontal louvre vents. The windscreen had been increased in area by 8%, although this would be more noticeable on the saloons, and the rear window increased by 45%.  The VW logo on the hub caps was now just painted on in black.
